Services and Consulting
What services does LINDEMANN provide?
LINDEMANN plans, manufactures, sources and installs office furniture. The company combines its own manufacturing facilities with a portfolio of more than 250 partner brands and supports office projects from the initial consultation through to the completed installation.
Depending on the project, our services include product selection, workplace consulting, planning, custom-made furniture, project coordination, logistics and installation.
Does LINDEMANN only provide office furniture, or also consulting and planning?
LINDEMANN provides both office furniture and consulting and planning services. If the requirements are clearly defined, we can provide direct support with product selection, quotations and implementation.
When ways of working, space usage or organisational structures need to be reconsidered, UP GREAT, LINDEMANN’s service brand, supports the project. Its services include workplace strategy, change management, employee engagement, interior design and space planning.
What size of projects does LINDEMANN support?
LINDEMANN supports both the furnishing of individual workstations or rooms and extensive office projects involving several areas. The scope of our services is adapted to the individual project.
A project may be limited to product selection, delivery and installation or may also include strategic consulting, space planning, custom-made furniture and project coordination.
Can existing office furniture be included in the planning?
Yes. Existing office furniture can be assessed and included in the planning if it fits the new concept in functional, technical and design terms.
Reusing suitable furniture can reduce costs and limit the need for new resources. Whether and how existing products can be integrated is assessed for each project.
Products, Brands and Showroom
Does LINDEMANN only provide its own office furniture?
No. LINDEMANN combines office furniture from its own regional manufacturing facilities with products from selected partner brands. This allows us to meet different requirements, budgets and design preferences.
Does LINDEMANN provide manufacturer-independent advice?
Yes. Product selection is based on the requirements of the project and is not limited to one manufacturer. We consider factors such as function, ergonomics, design, quality, delivery time and budget.
Depending on the requirements, LINDEMANN combines its own products with suitable solutions from its network of partner brands.
How many brands does LINDEMANN work with?
LINDEMANN works with more than 250 regional, national and international brands. The range includes office chairs, tables, storage furniture, acoustic solutions, lighting and furniture for meeting, workshop and communal areas.
LINDEMANN employs around 85 people across consulting, planning, sales, manufacturing, logistics and project implementation.
Can I test office furniture and materials in person?
Yes. At the LINDEMANN showroom in Berlin, you can view, test and compare selected office furniture, materials and equipment solutions.
A showroom visit is particularly helpful when seating comfort, surfaces, colours or functions need to be assessed by a team. We recommend arranging an appointment in advance for a personal consultation.
Are all products from LINDEMANN’s partner brands displayed in the showroom?
No. With a portfolio of more than 250 brands, not every product can be permanently displayed. The showroom presents an extensive selection of furniture types, materials and solutions for different workplace settings.
If you would like to test a particular product, we recommend checking its availability with LINDEMANN before your appointment. Where possible, samples or alternative products can be prepared for the consultation.
Production, Quality and Custom-Made Furniture
Where does LINDEMANN manufacture its office furniture?
LINDEMANN manufactures its own office furniture in Bad Freienwalde, Brandenburg. Regional manufacturing enables short coordination routes and close cooperation between consulting, planning and production.
Modern CNC technology and skilled craftsmanship are used for both series furniture and project-specific custom-made items.
Which office furniture does LINDEMANN manufacture itself?
LINDEMANN manufactures desk and table systems as well as individual furniture for specific projects. In addition to series products, dimensions, materials and functions can be adapted to particular requirements.
The most suitable solution depends on the intended use, the spatial conditions and the required quantity.
Are individual furniture and custom-made solutions available?
Yes. If standard products do not meet the spatial or functional requirements, LINDEMANN can develop and manufacture individual furniture and project-specific custom solutions.
Options include adapted dimensions, specific materials, integrated functions or furniture for particular spatial situations. Technical feasibility and costs are assessed before implementation.
Which quality standards and certifications does LINDEMANN meet?
LINDEMANN is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for quality management and ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management. These certifications define requirements for operational processes, quality assurance and environmental management.
Additional product-specific evidence and certifications may apply depending on the furniture and manufacturer. Examples include the Blue Angel environmental label and PEFC certification.
Collaboration, Sectors and Experience
What types of companies and sectors does LINDEMANN work with?
LINDEMANN works with medium-sized businesses, start-ups, larger companies, public institutions, other organisations and architectural practices. Projects range from individual office areas to comprehensive workplaces with different spatial functions.
The sector itself is not the deciding factor. What matters are the ways of working, spatial requirements and organisational objectives that need to be considered.
Does LINDEMANN also work for public authorities and institutions?
Yes. LINDEMANN plans and delivers office furnishing projects for public authorities, public institutions and other public-sector clients.
Our support can include product selection, technical coordination, planning, product sampling, project coordination, delivery and installation. Procurement requirements and project-specific conditions are agreed at the beginning.
Does LINDEMANN work with architects and planning practices?
Yes. LINDEMANN regularly works with architects, interior designers and planning practices. The collaboration can begin at different stages of a project and is adapted to the planning work already completed.
LINDEMANN takes on the tasks for which product knowledge, technical coordination, product sampling, manufacturing or implementation are required.
How does LINDEMANN support architects during an office project?
LINDEMANN supports architects with product selection, product sampling, technical reviews and project coordination. We can also provide tender specifications, product data and information about materials, dimensions and delivery times.
How much experience does LINDEMANN have with office projects?
LINDEMANN has been developing, manufacturing and delivering office interiors since 1912. The family business is now managed by its fourth generation.
Its experience covers in-house furniture production, specialist retail, consulting and the delivery of office projects for companies, public institutions and other organisations.
Quotations, Costs and Budget
Is the initial consultation with LINDEMANN free of charge?
Yes. The initial consultation is usually free of charge and without obligation. During this meeting, we discuss what you would like to furnish, which requirements need to be considered and what time frame and budget are available.
We also determine whether direct furnishing support from LINDEMANN is sufficient or whether consulting and planning through UP GREAT would be appropriate or desired. Any further consulting, planning and implementation services are then clearly described and quoted.
How much does professional office furnishing cost?
The cost depends on the scope and requirements of the project. Important factors include the number of workstations, the selected products, the different types of spaces, any custom-made furniture and the required consulting, planning, delivery and installation services.
For an initial indication, project enquiries can be assigned to budget ranges of €5,000 to €10,000, €10,000 to €25,000, €25,000 to €50,000, €50,000 to €100,000 or more than €100,000. Following the initial consultation, you will receive a quotation tailored to your project.
Which factors affect the cost of an office project?
The main cost factors include:
- number and type of workstations required
- scope of consulting and planning services
- choice of manufacturers, materials and product variants
- proportion of individual furniture and custom-made solutions
- requirements for acoustics, lighting and technical equipment
- formats used for analysis and employee engagement
- delivery conditions, installation requirements and accessibility
- implementation in one or several project phases
Can LINDEMANN plan an office within a fixed budget?
Yes. If a budget has already been defined, we take it into account from the beginning. Together, we set priorities, compare suitable products and identify possible alternatives.
For larger projects, implementation in several phases may also be a suitable option.
How is a quotation for an office project prepared?
Following the initial consultation, we assess the requirements, spaces, products and services needed. Based on this information, we prepare a clear quotation.
Depending on the project, the quotation may include consulting through UP GREAT, space planning, furniture and equipment, custom-made solutions, delivery, installation and other agreed services.
Alternative products and variants can be compared where required. This makes it clear at an early stage which services are included in the budget and which decisions affect the overall cost.
What information does LINDEMANN need to prepare an initial quotation?
The following information helps us assess your project:
- desired completion date
- size and location of the space
- number of employees or workstations
- required areas and room functions
- available floor plans, photographs or planning documents
- intended budget
- existing furniture that should be reused
- specific requirements relating to ways of working, ergonomics, acoustics or technology
Not all information needs to be available at the beginning. Any open questions can be discussed during the initial consultation.
Project Process and Timeline
What is the ideal process for an office furnishing project with LINDEMANN and UP GREAT?
A good office project does not begin with the selection of individual pieces of furniture. It begins with the question of how a company wants to work in the future. We therefore first consider the organisation, ways of working, use of space, attendance patterns and employee needs.
UP GREAT is LINDEMANN’s service brand and supports the strategic and design-related development of the workplace. LINDEMANN is responsible for product selection, manufacturing, procurement, project coordination and implementation. In an ideal project, both areas work together to provide an integrated process:
- Define objectives and framework conditions
Together, we define the project objectives, schedule, budget, spatial conditions and organisational requirements. - Analyse ways of working and needs
UP GREAT examines how teams work, which activities take place and which spatial conditions are required. Depending on the project, this may involve interviews, workshops, online surveys or space analyses. - Develop the workplace strategy
The findings are translated into a usage concept. This may define the required work settings, allocation of space, desk sharing, retreat options and forms of collaboration. - Engage employees and managers
UP GREAT supports the change process through suitable formats for information, participation and shared agreements. This ensures that new ways of working are not only reflected in the spatial design but are also understood and practical to use. - Develop the interior design and space plan
Based on the strategy, UP GREAT translates the concept into a physical environment. This includes zoning, floor plan development, design, acoustics, lighting, materials and colours. - Select products and prepare the quotation
LINDEMANN adds suitable furniture and equipment to the plan. We draw on our own products, custom manufacturing capabilities and a network of more than 250 brands. Products and materials can be tested and compared in our Berlin showroom. - Coordinate manufacturing and implementation
Once the project has been approved, LINDEMANN coordinates ordering, manufacturing, project management, delivery and installation schedules. - Hand over the space and support its use
Following delivery and installation, the space is handed over together. If required, UP GREAT can support the introduction of the new working environment and evaluate how well it functions once it is in use and where adjustments may be needed.
The exact process depends on the size and objectives of the project. Some stages may not be required for a furniture-only order. For relocations, new working models or wider organisational changes, the joint process provided by UP GREAT and LINDEMANN offers continuous support from the initial analysis through to the completed workplace.
What role does UP GREAT play in an office project?
Depending on the requirements, UP GREAT provides workplace strategy, employee engagement, change management, interior design and planning. Business objectives, ways of working and user needs are translated into a practical space and usage concept.
LINDEMANN implements this concept with suitable products, its own manufacturing facilities, partner brands, project coordination, logistics and installation. Consulting, planning and implementation therefore form one coordinated process.
Is UP GREAT involved in every office project?
Not every project requires an extensive consulting phase. If individual pieces of furniture or clearly defined equipment solutions are needed, LINDEMANN can provide direct support with selection, quotations and implementation.
UP GREAT is particularly relevant when ways of working, space usage or organisational structures need to be reconsidered. This includes relocations, hybrid working models, desk sharing, new space concepts and change processes involving several teams and stakeholders.
How long does it take to plan and implement an office interior?
The duration depends on the scope of the project, consulting requirements, product selection, delivery times and required coordination. The following time frames provide an initial indication:
- individual areas or furniture-only deliveries: often around four to eight weeks
- office furnishing projects involving planning and several areas: often around eight to sixteen weeks
- comprehensive workplace projects involving analysis, employee engagement, workplace strategy or custom-made furniture: several months
Once the requirements have been defined, LINDEMANN and UP GREAT prepare a realistic schedule for the specific project.
When should companies start planning their office?
For an office project involving several areas, we recommend starting the planning process at least three to six months before the desired completion date. A longer lead time is advisable if ways of working first need to be analysed, employees involved or a workplace strategy developed.
Starting early provides more time for informed decisions, internal coordination, product sampling and the selection of suitable products.
What can affect the duration of an office project?
The project timeline can be affected by:
- scope of the strategic consulting and planning
- number of teams and decision-makers involved
- speed of internal decisions
- availability and delivery times of the selected products
- custom manufacturing and special solutions
- necessary approvals or tendering procedures
- construction progress and handover of the space
- implementation during ongoing business operations
These factors are considered as early as possible in the project.
Delivery and Implementation
Does LINDEMANN also handle delivery and installation?
Yes. LINDEMANN coordinates product selection, ordering, manufacturing, logistics and installation. This means that the main implementation services are provided from a single source and that you have dedicated contacts throughout the project.
The plans and concepts previously developed through UP GREAT feed directly into implementation planning and delivery.
Can the office be furnished during ongoing business operations?
In principle, yes. Depending on the space and scope of the project, delivery and installation can be planned in separate phases.
Access, time slots, contacts and the sequence of areas are coordinated to minimise disruption to ongoing business operations. If the new office also introduces different ways of working, UP GREAT can support employee communication and preparation.
Can office projects be implemented in several phases?
Yes. A phased implementation may be useful if different areas are completed at different times, ongoing operations need to be maintained or the available budget is divided across several stages.
LINDEMANN coordinates the individual delivery and installation phases. Where required, UP GREAT ensures that the spatial and strategic objectives remain consistent throughout all project phases.
